She was kicked off the basketball team because of the potential for “drama” her presence created. She’s been vilified by fellow students, called “criminal,” “rapist” and “child abuser.” She was expelled from school. And far worse. She’s facing a lifetime label of “sex-offender,” because the other girl’s parents brought criminal charges against her despite the fact that the relationship was consensual. What’s more, according to Hunt’s parents, Hunt was 17 when the relationship began, but the other girl’s parents waited until after she turned 18 to go to police.

Unbelievably, prosecutors have decided to press the criminal charge.

So the prosecutor’s office in Sebastian River, Florida thinks this is a worthwhile use of taxpayer money and the court’s time.

Thoughts: Another original series by Netflix! After hearing how great House of Cards was, I decided to give this a try! It’s adapted from a book, and it’s terribly obvious it is. I could tell before even doing any research. This show is terrible. The way it’s been adapted for film makes it kind of hard to understand and know what parts of the story are relevant. Certain things in the plot are brought up to get the audience interested only to never be addressed again. The acting is painfully terrible. Some of the actors don’t even look in the right spot when they say their lines. Sometimes they even look in the camera. Guh. Also, random ass shitty soft core porn is all over the place. If there is a chance to show some boobs, they will show some boobs. It’s not even sexy. The only reason this show isn’t getting an F is because I like the werewolf transformation scene. I’m kind of interested in reading the books. I feel like this film version may have butchered the original material.

Recommend: No! Avoid at all costs!

Thoughts: I really love scifi movies and apocalypse movies so I was really looking forward to this! I was getting really in to this movie and really enjoying it when I realized I think I found a glaring plot hole. And the whole movie was relying on this glaring plot hole. Today, February 17th, 2013, my parents came to take me out to an early dinner, or linner…food. So of course it’s the usual talking about classes and such. However, today was different. After we had finished, we went for a ride with some more small talk popping up here and there. Eventually, my dad asked about relationships and if I was interested in this one girl I know. Instead of batting the question away… I told them I was gay. I’m gay. My heart was pounding and looking back on it, I don’t feel like it happened. Like something hijacked my mouth and forced the air from my lungs while I was just watching this unfold from outside of my body. They went quiet. Suddenly my mom asks when I realized it, and honestly, I’ve known since somewhere around the 6th grade, but could never admit it to myself (until this last year). They somehow had no clue that I wasn’t the same as their other two sons. My dad was the first to say, “You’re still our son and we love you no matter what.” At this point we were close to campus and just about to my apartment. I honestly had no idea how their reaction to the news would go, but it was positive. When we pulled up to drop me off, they stepped out of the car and gave me hugs saying that they love me. It was the tightest hug I’ve ever received from my mom, and I’ll never forget it. This was one of the biggest steps in my life that I’ve taken, and I’m still in disbelief.
